Hello. Welcome to my new website. Please bear with me as I settle into a format I like.

My name is Holly Westlund. I live in Portland, Oregon. I have worked as content manager in the health industry (writing, editing, graphic design, and website planning). I have taught basic college writing courses. I have a BA in English with a Writing Concentration and a Masters in Social Work, with a specialization in children’s mental health.

I am currently a freelance writer and editor. My areas of expertise include health (especially type 2 diabetes, preventive care, sexual health, and mental health), world religions, children’s literature, and fantasy world-building. I can write across a variety of reading levels, and I enjoy editing—especially when I get to turn nonsense into sense.

I also write young adult fiction. My fiction is currently represented by Kelly Sonnack of Andrea Brown Literary.
